Steve Cooper
Co-founder, partner and creative director of Iguana Advertising
Iguana providing advertising and marketing services to the cycling industry from 1986 through the mid 90's. Clients included Mavic, Tange, Tioga, Shogun, Off Road, Rhode Gear, Pedros, Bik, Look, and Shockworks. Cooper's creativity and practical marketing skills produced marketing assets that helped their clients build some of the most influential brands in their day.
Evangelist, Strata
As an accomplished expert in 3D content creation, Cooper was corporate spokesperson for Strata, a leading developer of professional Mac and PC based 3D animation and graphics tools. As a speaker at industry trade shows, graphics conferences, user groups and PR events, Cooper delivered concise, compelling and educational messaging to help drive home Strata's marketing initiatives. His "Cyber Warrior" persona opened opportuinities on televsion and radio in markets around the world.
Group 3D Product/Brand Manager, Metacreations
Metacreations, one of the top three publishers of 2D and 3D graphics/artists software relied on their product mangers for every aspect of a brand's success from user and engineering driven feature specification, development and pre-launch, to market release, advertising and sales support, concluding with the product's end of life stratgey so the whole cycle could be repeated. Cooper acted as conductor of the product cycle, and drove much of the creative development for the brands under his control. He also was the face of the products to the user base, helping build a wildly successful artists' user community. As 3D group product manager Cooper oversaw product management of Poser, Painter 3D, Canoma, Raydream and Carrara.
Co-founder/President, Curious Labs
At the height of the web boom, Metacreations sold all published software products in favor of a web specific strategy. Partnered with Larry Weinberg, creator of Poser, Seath Ahrens, lead developer, and funded by German based egi-sys, Curious Labs was founded to take over ownership and publishing of Poser. Cooper took the helm setting up the publishing, marketing, PR, support and sales components of the company. The product was re-released to great success, and spawned several follow-up add-on products as well as a thriving ecosystem of third party content developers. With a focus on PR, Cooper's efforts produced major editorial features including NY Times feature stories, trade journal artist features, and even became a monthly columnist for UK based 3D World Magazine.
Head of Marketing, Havok
Game physics engine developer Havok brought Cooper on to revitalize their marketing efforts to game developers, and prepare for the release of new versions and features in their core offering. Cooper worked with game developers and publishers including Midway, Valve, EA and Sony to develop marketing materials to support Havok's sales goals, in addition to authoring and releasing all PR, and developing case studies to compare and contrast competitive solutions to Havok.
Business Development, Futuremark
Finnish based Futuremark utilized Cooper's expertise to pitch performance benchmark technology and marketing data acquistion tools to game publishers. In addition Cooper managed client relationships, including Microsoft and their XP Game Advisor service, based on Futuremark hardware analysis technology. Cooper prepared pre-launch plans for Futuremark's regularly released PC and handheld device benchmark products targeting consumers, industry partners and the editorial commnity.
